1. Introduction

Welcome to Lifely ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy is designed to inform you ("the user") about the types of data we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and handled, and your rights concerning this data.

Our philosophy is "local-first," meaning your data is permanently stored on your own device. To provide intelligent features, some data is sent for secure, temporary processing by third-party services, as detailed below, but it is not retained by them.

By downloading, installing, or using the Lifely App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

The App's core functionality relies on processing data that already exists on your device. All data is processed and stored locally on your device unless explicitly stated otherwise. We collect the following types of information only after you have granted us explicit permission:

• A. SMS Data (android.permission.READ_SMS):

  • Information Collected: We access the content, sender information, and timestamps of your SMS messages.

  • Purpose: The core purpose of this access is to automatically identify and extract information from invoices, receipts, and payment confirmations sent to you via SMS, in order to organize them for you. Additionally, this data may be used as part of the App's comprehensive summary feature, enabling communication analysis to generate insights and identify potential events. This data is processed and stored within the App's secure local database on your device only.

• B. Audio Recordings (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO):

  • Information Collected: We collect audio recordings only when you actively and intentionally initiate a recording using the "Voice Analysis" feature.

  • Purpose: This permission allows you to record conversations for analysis. The audio file is sent securely to a third-party service (Google Gemini) for transcription and analysis. Immediately after the analysis is complete, the original audio file is permanently deleted from your device. We only store the resulting textual output (summary, conclusions, etc.) locally.

• C. Camera Access (android.permission.CAMERA):

  • Information Collected: We access your device's camera to capture images.

  • Purpose: This permission is required for the "Smart Gallery" feature, which allows you to photograph documents, receipts, or other physical items. The captured image is then analyzed by an AI service to extract relevant information, which is then stored locally within the App.

• D. Account Information (android.permission.GET_ACCOUNTS):

  • Information Collected: We use this permission to identify Google accounts on your device to facilitate Google Sign-In.

  • Purpose: This enables you to optionally connect your Google account to the App. If you grant further permissions via the Google Sign-In process, the App can access your Gmail messages to include them in its comprehensive summaries.

• E. Network Access (android.permission.INTERNET and android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE):

  • Information Collected: No personal data is collected via this permission itself, but it enables data transmission.

  • Purpose: Internet access is required to communicate with third-party AI services (e.g., Google Gemini) to process your data and for essential App functions.

• F. Crash Log Data:

  • Information Collected: In the event of an application crash, anonymized technical data (e.g., device model, OS version, stack trace) is saved to a local file on your device. This log does not contain any of your personal content.

  • Purpose: This data helps our developers diagnose and fix bugs. You have full control over this file and can choose to manually share it with our support team.

3. How We Use Your Information

Our core principle is that your data is stored locally on your device. The information collected is used strictly for the following purposes:

• To Provide and Maintain the Service: To process your local data and generate smart summaries, calendar events, document analyses, and other insights as part of the App's core functionality.

• For Service Improvement: To understand and analyze how you use the App and to diagnose technical problems using anonymized crash log data you choose to share.

• To Communicate With You: To send you service-related notifications, such as summary completion alerts.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your Personally Identifiable Information to third parties. Your data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:

• Third-Party Service Providers: We use third-party services to provide and enhance our App's functionality. These services only receive the data necessary to perform their specific tasks.

  • Google Gemini: We send text, audio, and image data to the Google Gemini API for processing, analysis, and summary generation. Data is transmitted securely. This data is used ephemerally for the sole purpose of processing your request and is not stored or retained by the service provider after the analysis is complete. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy.

  • Google Sign-In: If you connect your Google account, the authentication process is handled by Google's secure services.

• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).

5. Data Security

We are committed to protecting your data. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. All user-generated content and summaries are stored in a local database on your device, protected by the security architecture of the Android Operating System.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is stored locally on your device. We retain this data as long as the App is installed. If you uninstall the Lifely App, all associated data stored within the App's local directories will be permanently deleted from your device as part of the standard uninstallation process.

7. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
